Little vibration at higher speed.

I'm new to this forum. But I've got a 2015 LT. I got new rims and rubber for it a month ago. I put bf goodrich at ta's on it. I have a small vibration around 120 kms. Didn't have it before I out the new tires on it. Had it balanced 2 times by 2 different shops. Any ideas? Maybe putting a little weight in the bed would help?

Not actually true! Each area where engine, driveline, and body mounts meet need to be studied.

Melt sheets are your friend, and trueing up of your drive line and suspension parts will reduce energy. Now you need to find where it is being absorbed, steering wheel, floor, cabin...ect. Energy absorbing material could be installed in these areas reducing the energy load.

Test out clamping metal blocks along your frame rail and key areas, you will learn lots and may find your culprit.

This is what we call R&D testing, what GM's engineers didn't do or have solved!

120kmh = 72 mph right?

Mine shakes at 72 also. No fix in sight.

2017 silverado LT double cab less 2000KM same thing Vibration at higher speed

and transmission issue ,chugging ,lack of power ,shifting issue ,no fix in sight ,i was told engineering is working on this ,looks like this has been an issue for some time ,

i hate this truck spent alot of money and got hosed by GM

you would think if GM knew of the problem they would had fixed it sooner (witch they did you can read other posts from 2014 same problems on other forums )

really pissed ,about this ,and all you get is a sorry i can unstander stand how you feel ,no they dont that all text book BS

once again the consumer gets to be the Guinea pig

Send a registered letter to GM outlining your problems to date, take a video of your issues with a water bottle as a referrence of shake also include your mileage and vin # ask them to get involved, and where you can legally drop off your truck to be repaired under your warranty legal agreement, "do not" except it back into your possession until you are 100% satisfied with the repairs. Know your rights, do not except the line "your vehicle is preforming as designed". That would mean every truck is designed to shake? As some vehicles do not...but that number is very few! Do not continue to drive this vehicle adding mileage and time without legal advice if your problem does not get solved.

Ask Anthony at GM above ^^^to arrange a drop off site, and a replacement loaner untill your vehicle is repaired 100%, and shake free how a new vehicle should be!

I see eveyone is quick to say its the " chevy shake", he did say it was not there before the new tire and wheels..... possibly just a bad wheel/tire...

Find a shop with a road force balancer, you might be suprised. If 2 shops are using old school static machines you will have the same results.

Before everyone condenms GM, you didn't state what wheels you bought. Some of the after-market wheels are less than acceptable and some just don't 'zero-out' on an independent balance.
