I HAVE A 2013 SILVERADO WITH UNDER 35,000 MILES TRUCK DIDN'T SHUT OFF THE FIRST 5 YEARS NOW IT SHUT OFF 6 TIMES GOING 20 MILES IT ALSO SHUTS OFF JUST SITTING IN PARKING LOT I TRY TO RESTART IT AND NOTHING COME BACK 10 MINUTES LATER AND TURNS ON FINE W.T.F

Same here bud but I have a 2014 SIERRA and I missed a college class that I can’t make up and the professor gave a lecture over a essay I have to write and now I don’t know what he’s looking for in the essay and it took the vehicle roughly an hour and a half to even begin thinking about turning back on

Full 100% power outage sounds like a grounding issue.

The entire circuit went dead even with the alternator running this would indicate that even that was interrupted..

Hit grade difference going into the lot and it lost contact for a second.

There are people on here having ground leads replaced to fix issues similar to this.

There is another forum on here that deals with the exact same problem but they posted video on how to fix it and a GM tag rep saw it and commented the same reply that they put at the beginning of this one and in the video it tells you what the problem is and it is a grounding issue on G214 or G215 but they are the grounds for your dash speakers

Just an update, the truck cut out on me again and died a couple more times, (I carry a booster pack now). It did it again today when I was close to the dealer so I stopped by, thankfully it died in their parking lot again so they were able to see what was going on firsthand without trying to replicate it. Turns out there is a problem with the negative battery cable going to the fuse box. They are going to replace both the positive and negative for a bill of $679. My 3yr 60k/km bumper to bumper warranty is just up (Just past 3 years, I only have 48k/km) so I'm on the hook for that.

I have also been getting a message to "Service Security System" so hopefully this takes care of that too.

GM Rep who posts on here, feel free to pick up the tab on this repair! :help:

@YLGUY - did this fix your problem? I know this is an older thread, but I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado and is doing the same thing.

Just figured this out!!! Truck was randomly dying while driving.  Things I did: changed alternator, battery, negative and positive cables, fuse box on battery,  also cleaned all grounds. Problem still wasn't fixed!   Kept digging and what it ended up being was my Keys were to heavy on the ignition.  When i would turn or pull up a hill, quickly accelerate or break. Keys would sway and trick my truck into shutting off. Cost me $700 to figure it out, but hell it's running great now. Hope this helps someone out.  I was stressed to the max. Everyone kept telling me it was a computer problem.  Glad I didn't listen.  Good luck out there.
