That is a great story and thank you for sharing & they look great! I thought the "jamhandles" seemed silly to me but two weeks ago I ordered some after I saw all the dirty finger prints on the outside of the truck lol.

I didn't notice anger in the posts but some of us question the function of this accessory. We all share in the op's pride of his son. I know I still have my son's high school projects proudly displayed and he is in his 40's!

I am pretty sure its not the functionality of the accessory, but the cynicim of it. Most of the mods done to our truck are completely for the owners enjoyment or to make it unique! Hence the mass amounts of aftermarket accessories.

How many of these lifted trucks with oversized tires actually make it offroad?

Do I really need 22 inch wheels and tires on my truck?

Nope! It rolled just fine on the stock 18's that it came with.

To each their own, enjoy what you have ..lifes to short!

from outside the truck, open and close using the factory handles.

its pretty simple.

watch how over time, digging into those 3 holes with your fingers (lolz) will leave scratch marks from your fingernails.

Very possiable, but those 3 little holes (inside the door), will never amass the amount that those wheels and tires will do in damage to the outside of your truck.....

Well said! Using the analogy of larger wheels, there are many ways to explain their purpose. I still am wondering when you would use "jam handles". Are they used when getting in or out of the vehicle? With larger wheels you can always argue that they enhance the looks of your vehicle if you don't understand how they improve function!

good idea, I'd buy a set if you make more.

No concerns on my side re:finger injuries because well..I know how a door works.

Tell your son job well done! I'll take 4 please. Warms my heart that young kids are using their minds and creativity! Gives me some hope for the future of our country

Lot of people going to school, but very few of them walk away with an education.

Congrats to your son. It's the ones like him that make paying ad valorem taxes worth while.

Ad valorem tax - Wikipedia

An ad valorem tax (Latin for "according to value") is a tax whose amount is based on the value of a transaction or of property. It is typically imposed at the time of a transaction, as in the case of a sales tax or value-added tax (VAT).

Correct. Part of our ad valorum tax assessed on our property (real estate) goes to the School Board to fund local schools.

I don't suppose that Civics and Government is taught in school anymore. The teachers have to teach the "Test" so that they can get more money for themselves. "No child left behind".

But real life will leave you behind in a heartbeat!

Class dismissed!

When I lived in Chicago nearly 85% of my property taxes went to the board of education. The worst school system in the country which I never attended nor would I send my children.

I did a search on the topic of jam handles to see how and why they are used. They are for closing the door while outside of the vehicle. This is to avoid putting your hands on and pushing from the outside painted portions of the door. I was taught by my "car-loving" father to use the door handle to close the door and I have passed this on to my kids so this is a modification that wouldn't be used in my situation. I bet this accessory would be a necessity on a vehicle with shaved door handles.

My students tried to make me some today. They will alter the plans and try again. Not too shabby for 12 year old kids.

Looking good! Are you a Tech Ed teacher? My made mine in his 6th grade T.E. class

I teach 5th grade math, 6th grade S.S. and 7th grade math enrichment (aka lower math students). The Science teacher is helping me with this, but next year I'll be back to teaching science as the current sci teacher has developed an entire STEM curriculum.
