Installed these this morning. You may have seen similar ones before, they are called "Jam Handles". A very cool item to install on the inside of doors to close the doors with out touching the outside of the door and leaving finger prints ..

Ok so what really makes "these/ mine" the best ever? My 13 year old son who has been involved in my build saw me looking them online. He said " Oh , I can make you those in tech ed." So I okay and waited a few days. Friday he brought me 4 of these beauty's home from school for me to install ! He used the schools 3D printer, choose all the dimensions , tapered the holes and even inscribed LTZ in the them ! I put some 3M dbl sided tape on the back.

Bam .. best mod ever!

I would perfer to keep my hands and fingers out of that area when closing the door, I can see someone not getting there hand and fingers out of the way fast enough before the door closes on them, broken fingers waiting to happen.

Send me a Red set that has Denali inscribed in it and I will Beta test them for you.

That is really cool! They match my truck perfectly. My son is taking a manufacturing technology (machine shop) course this semester. Maybe he will have an option to do something cool like this. If so I will be proudly bragging too!

My elbow works ... and comes with my human body ... no charge

I've yet to see elbow prints on the door edge

They were "no charge" , I guess some of us still read with pictures; and if your trucks dirty its scratching the paint....so save your elbow grease to polish them out ......

Nice story! Make sure you take these with you when you move on to your next vehicle! I have seen "jam handles" on a previous thread and not clear on when they are used. I always use the factory handles!

Whether you like the idea of the handles or not you've got to appreciate the kids ingenuity. I've been debating buying a set for my crew cab. I'm not sure why but I naturally reach for this area when I shut my doors. Most of the time I grab the storage compartment just below the arm rest which I realize is fairly dangerous given how little time I have to get my hands out of the way before I crush my fingers.

from outside the truck, open and close using the factory handles.

its pretty simple.

watch how over time, digging into those 3 holes with your fingers (lolz) will leave scratch marks from your fingernails.

Lot of angry posters in here for something that doesn't even affect them. lol

It's good to know that there's at least one resourceful kid left that can use his brain for something useful instead of just sitting around playing video games all day.

I didn't notice anger in the posts but some of us question the function of this accessory. We all share in the op's pride of his son. I know I still have my son's high school projects proudly displayed and he is in his 40's!

Maybe not anger, but I just thought a lot of people were quick to bash the idea of the product itself as opposed to acknowledging the cool story behind it.
