Stock Measurement

Hey all, i have a 2017 Sierra crew Elevation edition. Now im used to lifting my trucks to over 6" but this time ill be going moderate and just slapping the RC 2.5 kit on sometime soon and running 275/65/20 duratracs just to make her look like a truck lol. For shits and giggles, at stock height i measured the center of the fender inline with center of the wheel hub to the ground front and back and noticed the rear is exactly 3 inches higher. I was figuring it looked about 2" from the eye, but measuring tapes dont lie. With this lift ill still have about an inch and a half of rake which i want anyways. I seen lots of pictures on here and i find it odd when just the two inch level gets thrown in without swapping the blocks in the rear the front still looks nose high on some of these trucks similar to mine. Is my truck just oddly high in the rear or what? i do have the towing package also. My stock measurements are 36 3/4 front and 39 3/4 rear. Any comparisons out there for measurements at stock on a crew short box?

My 2017 z71 crew cab had a 2.5" higher at the rear stock.

If my math is right, you should use a 1.5" level to maintain a 1.5" rake. I also believe a 1.5" level will give the truck look you are after and not look nose high! It also has less of an impact on your stock suspension components, imo!

I didn't take wheel well measurements but did mark the top of my LED headlight cutoff pre- and post-level.

 

I asked for 1.5" level to my stock ride/replaced but stock size tires, and damn it looks to the eye to be much more that 1.5".

 

I asked and the tech said the box said 1.5". Ok, I parked identically in my garage and my headlight cutoff is about 3" higher! Now, I know this is relatively inaccurate but still...

 

Maybe I will get used to it. I can tell from a driving position and certainly like the effect on my headlights, and haven't received any signals from oncoming drivers that it's too high. WTH

I am adding the two inch block, my rear is already 3 inches higher. Will be 4 with the block. Add 2.5 in the front that is 1.5. So your way I just add 1.5 to the front. Yes it'd be easier on the front but not the look I'm after. Thanks for the input tho bud
