Alarm went off when reconnecting battery

I had my negative battery terminal cable off for 30 minutes to install an intake. When I reconnected it, the car alarm immediately started going off. Scared the Guinness right out of me. Is that normal?

sometimes. were the doors locked when you re-connected the battery?

when my battery died i had it disconnected for two hours, when i put the new battery in it locked the doors with the key in the ignition thank god for caa the extra key was an hour away

I doubt it was locked since I opened the door to pop the hood.

Mine went off as well after being disconnected for a couple hours. My doors were locked.
