Elite e2x vs. UPR Plug n Play

In my opinion the can part is all the same. The nly major difference is the connectors they use. If 1 works better then the other I'm sure it's very minimal. Not even enough to notice. Put a picture of both on a wall. Spin yourself around and whichever you.touch first buy it

Not so. The e2x is clearly larger and thus less chance of overfilling with condensation in cold weather and/or needs checking on less often. Also, the "guts" must be different between the two. All of this talk of chambers, etc. reminds me of the afore-mentioned barkers at the fair. The UPR appears to have nicer hoses and connections but it's about system performance, not looks.

A few of my buddies have the 100 dollar cans they installed. Work fine for years and still on if you.empty it out periodically you'll be fine.

If you look closer at all the pictures as the UPR Plug n Play™ Dual Valve Catch Can sits lower and closer to the engine greatly reducing and even eliminate any condensation and moisture. This is designed just to eliminate the need for a much larger capacity and I speak from experience as UPR does sell much larger Catch Cans. Also, there is zero obstruction and difficulty when you remove the UPR Plug n Play™ CSS to put oil in the engine as a funnel fits with a ton of space in every direction and does not require any additional time or skill to change.

You can see from the images that the UPR sits well below the top of the CSS and offers plenty of room with or without a cold air intake for easy oil changes. We also mount the UPR Plug n Play™ Dual Valve Catch Can further away from the firewall to keep it more accessible.

I just like to keep the facts correct and to the point.

Ok, so I just went out and emptied mine after approx 5000km (Canada Eh). This is the most i've emptied out of it to date.

Any issues with the hoses? How much room below the drain? Enough to get a water bottle beneath it?

I've had no issues with the hoses. There's definitely enough room for a water bottle, that's normally what I use but I couldn't find any in my house. You have to fit it in a little crooked but it still works. The only downside is it's a pain to reach in with the water bottle AND open the valve. I think any catch can would be a pain though considering the trucks sit so high.

The UPR sitting "lower and closer to the engine" would make it that much more of a pain to get at with something. The idea of attaching some sort of hose is intriguing, although my crawling under trucks days are behind me.

Even with a hose going under the engine you would still need to open the valve somehow from underneath, or have a second person up top. Both units will be a pain to empty. Im 5'11" and still need a stool and to lean into my bay to empty the damn thing. Its only a handful of times a year I empty it though so it doesnt bug me too much.

A hose attached to the bottom of the valve would be the ticket. Then you'd just need to slide a little pan in and out under the truck. You'd still have to get at the valve though. My concern is the cold here 6 or so months of the year and, presumably, having to empty much more often. Again, there appears to be no clear choice. Maybe cost should decide?

Duckfart, I like it. Nice to see another MN Twins fan. Was it Bert Blyleven who coined that term for the twins?

I have Elite Catch Can, mounted in the rear. I'm not sure what model Elite it is, I forget, but it works great. Thanks for the reminder to empty it, I just ran out and did that.

Yeah ----- good ole Bert. Spelling compliments of Dick Bremer. I've been a "fan" since they first arrived in town but I'm becoming increasingly weary of ownership viewing their fans as nothing more than pockets to be picked.

I have other customers that run the fitting off the bottom of the catch can with a hose and mount the drain valve at the end of the hose to access it easily under the car. Just to share other options.

Whatever involves hands and knees would be a Plan B for me.

LOL, I hear you. There are many options for draining the system.
