The purpose of the CSS is to keep clean air flowing in and out of the crankcase and when any oil gets pushed out the clean side vent into the CSS it will stop it and drain back into the valve cover. It does not require any service or emptying. The UPR CSS all billet construction with an OEM High-Performance Plug n Play™ CSS Fitting that can be removed in seconds and the lower UPR Plug n Play™ portion simply unscrews like the factory oil cap. We do not machine a factory or aftermarket oil cap and push the CSS through as we have seen and experienced failures over time and they can eventually leak or can become loose. We are the only company to offer a fully CNC machined assembly with a quick connect fitting that gets installed in the oil filler neck. I prefer running a CSS on trucks since they are under load more often than not because of the weight of the vehicle and being work or hobby related.

Other than that it's just added protection to eliminate any chance of oil ingestion.

Where did you get the oem an fittings

I bought new tubes, and cut the fittings out of them. there was not GM part number at the time last year when I looked, maybe now there is.

6.2 Tube from valve lifter oil manifold assembly to Intake

GM# 12650610 esp.. $30ish

Not 100% sure if it fits 5.3, but for sure 6.2

Tubes from Valve covers to air box

GM# 12670793 esp.. $13ish

GM# 12670791 esp.. $13ish
