BBK 80mm TBI install

well, i put the BBK 80mm TBI on my Vortec this morning. OH MY GAWD! What a difference! Well... I have to say that I've had this K&N on, and the JBAs on so I'm sure those helped out a bit - I just didn't see their worth until this install.

Here's the installation documented with pics if you'd like to check'em out.

Good lookin clean install! I have thought of the 80 mm TB but I just have to wonder how much of a diff it would make on the 4.8L

BTW- where did you get the TB from? Cost?

$330 - argh.. i probably paid too much for it - it did only have 6,000 mi. on it (according to previous owner). i got it off of ebay from a fella (owns a camero) who didn't know you can put them in late model gm trucks. i heard the MAF is really going to compliment the TBI so we'll see - i'll keep you posted.

Please do as I'm considering a hi-flo MAF also!

Before the MAF be sure to find the post where granetelli is getting sued because their stuff doesn't work right.

really!? wow, this must relate to their recent issues with pro-m. i take it since the 2 split up, GMS does not have the technical knowledge or know-how it did when pro-m was onboard. hm.. i'll check it out.

Thanks, I did read that post. I was kinda leaning more towards the JET MAF. I think they have a better rep and product.
