Subwoofers and Speakers

I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 double cab with just the stock speakers. I don't really know anything about speakers and I want to add two 10" subs (or 12"), an amp, and maybe swap out the door speakers to really revamp the whole stereo. I'm looking to spend around $800-$1000 and was wondering if anyone has any ideas to get the best system for that amount of money. Thanks.

I'm in the process of looking into a kicker..I think it's called a "VSS sound stage" maybe? You keep your stereo and speakers. It adds power and clarity along with a amp and sub. I've heard good things about it so far and it's made to integrate with our trucks.

I spent about $700 for my custom built box ( I built it), 12"jl audio 12"tw3-d4 shallow sub, alpine 500w amp and my audio control lc2i loc. I installed everything and ordered my amp wire kit from eBay. I would not have been happy with the kicker powered sub, but I have had several sound systems and like my music as loud as possible. I am very happy with my setup, it hits, hard and sounds clean!

you can get some serious bump in there for less than a $1000. Can you install yourself? If so you will get more value and sound.

At this point I try to buy high quality as opposed to high quantity when I was younger, so I was a little on the high side but there are quality components that will fall into your budget. I had the fosgate 10" shallow p3 and liked it a lot. Was half the price of my JL. It will be hard to get a whole system installed for the $800-$1000. I guess that's arguable. Good luck brother

Thanks for the information. I'm going to look into this. If I have to spend a little more than 1000 I'd be okay if I'm getting an awesome system. I'm just not really liking the stock speakers in it now. I want something clearer, louder and more bump. I was looking into those JL's and I liked them. I might stop in at my local audio store and see what he has to say. He mostly sells fosgate though

I am to that point. Now that I have some good low end in there I am itchin to throw a 4 channel amp and some new component speakers. I am not disappointed with the shallow JL. One thing to note with the 12"tw3-d4, it is a shallow sub but from the mounting line to max excursion or the top of the [emoji344] grill is more than other shallow subs on the market. But boy does it hit
