Auto dimming rearview mirror

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2014 Silverado lt I got a auto dimming mirror installed but I guess they are pre wired anymore for this option the onstar works but I guess it lacks at least 2 wires a power and the backup I would think it would share the same ground as the onstar portion of the mirror died the roof wiring used to plug on the junction box on the bottom side of the dash. The same box that the trailer controller plugs into it

They are not Plug and Play.

You are missing Power.

I have a thread on how to wire this up like Factory. The additional (2) auto Dim circuits are only needed if you plan on upgrading your mirrors to DL3. The driver's side DL3 has auto Dim built in but relies on these two circuits from the rear view mirror.

The backup circuit only disables auto dim when in reverse to provide the best visibility. You can omit that if you want.

Here is my complete thread on the retrofit.
