BG GDI intake valve service

Yeah, do report back as I will most definitely get this service done @50k intervals. I have done something similar on MPI engines and they ran excellent after the fact and I usually did it 100k......But I believe these GDI really need more attention!

Curious to see if you notice an improvement in performance/efficiency after this. Even if it's only been 30k miles.

So took little over an hour. When the dealer started it up again and drove it to the front, a little bit of white smoke came out the exhaust (from the carbon).

Drove it back to work, reinstalled my BBP tune, and walah. Definitely a noticeable increase in throttle performance, not just a placebo effect.

Even cycles gears a little bit smoother for some reason.

I'd say probably 5-15 HP increase - like when adding an intake/exhaust. Small, yet noticeable difference.

I'll be doing this every 30k, mechanics said my truck looked good and was running great! Knock on wood.

8/32 left on the DuraTracs...can't wait to upgrade those in a couple months either.

You da man! Preciate the info! I am just waiting on the service person to call me back, because I inquired about this along with some other maintenance. Waiting on them to tell me how much $ I'm getting ready to hemorrhage. lol.

Hey, out of curiousity, how many miles are on your rig?

Good news there, hope it goes as smooth as mine did!

Just about to hit 28k, will have owned a year next month - I've had a catch can and clean side separator on since day 2.

They don't give you a hard time about that?

8/32 is 1/4 ? Sounds like much tread life remaining to me?

Nope, most people understand the need to keep GDI engines clean.

I did however remove my tune before heading to the dealership.

Starts with 16/32 from factory - so half way gone at least. I'll probably drive till 5/32.

Sold mine with 900 miles on them to some lady with an F-150 for $200. Glad to be rid of them but I'd feel really bad if she had wrecked her truck due to them damn Eagles.
