I recently bought wires and plugs on Amazon and was wondering if the platinum 41-962 come in pre gaped? Can a platinum tip be gapped? If so what is the proper gap .06(original) or .04(now)?

does the .04 run better for you guys? Should I gap it to .06? Is there a difference in response or mileage? Thanks for the reply

Do not change the gap. If you want .060 then buy .060 pre-gapped plugs.

Don't change the gap. When GM changed the plugs to iridium from platinum, they changed the gap hence the new gap being 0.040. I would think that you may hamper performance by altering the gap of the new plugs as GM changed that gap when they changed material for a reason.

The ones im getting are the platinums not the iridiums. So you're saying even the platinums are gap'd to .040?

ok good info guys. will install as-is and see what happens on the platinum plugs.

Your truck will run fine on platinums but they wear out faster and you will be able to feel your truck idle as they start to wear.
