Side Mirror Lights

So I'll start off with: Please don't laugh too hard at the below picture; I am not looking to do this to my truck!

 

Just curious if anyone has done (or seen) anyone add LED lights to the front of their side mirrors, like in the picture?

 

http://www.rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/20611was an example of something I was thinking might work. Anyways, anyone done this? Not sure how much room is behind the mirror of if this is impossible to do? Would kind of look like the FJ Cruiser but much better.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but probably as an aux light with a separate switch in the cab. They'd basically be like spot lights, but those are typically adjustable; this would just be forward pointing.

Gotcha. I haven't taken apart a Towing mirror but based on some videos I've seen of those making the dual park lamp / turn Signal modification, it looks like there is room.

Sorry, I should have specified too: I am looking at this for my regular, not folding mirrors (not the tow mirrors).

i think it'll look tacky on regular mirrors since they are curved on the back. would look better on a flat back mirror like the tow ones.

what about doing the mounts up near the window cowl under the hood?

Thought about that but I don't love the look of the mounts for that.
