bad news??

Hey guys, need some help, I went to start up the truck tonight and heard a god awful noise(see video). This was accompanied by what I would say is an oil fume smell in the air. No oil on the ground or around the engine that i can see, checked levels, all good there. Any thoughts??

Rod and/or rod cap. Bad stuff dude.

I appreciate the response, I will have it towed to the dealership in the morning. I am by no means a mechanic, what would cause something like that? Now I am trying to remember if drivetrain is under warranty for 100k miles....

Power train coverage is up to 5 years/100,000 for 2015 or less. 5 years/60,000 for 2016 and up

That sucks. Sorry bud. On the bright side of you get a new engine out of it under warranty it might be a blessing in disguise. Just trying to think positive.

With my bad hearing and listening to the video, I'm not sure it isn't something fairly simple. Maybe a spark plug blew out or a lifter/valve stuck. It doesn't sound like a rod or main bearing to me.

interesting, the thing that really worried me were the fumes it was giving off, once i smelled that I shut her down immediately
