Hey all, just wondering if anyone on here has actually done a cam upgrade? How difficult was it, and what kind of power did you see out of the new cam? I am thinking about doing a cam upgrade, but its difficult to decide as I'm not sure if i want to start digging into my motor. Would love the upgrade in power, just didnt know if it was really worth all the work and time? Any info anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

oil pan has to come off, if your 4wd its best to pull the engine honestly. Worth it, maybe, alot of time to do, yes

I have seen people pull the front clip and rad and wind it in that way. 10-12hrs labour and $500 for a cam $1200-1500 is not a bad price to pay for a mild cam upgrade of 50hp. Cheapest and simplest upgrade is to fork out 2k for the bigger motor.

I just got the work priced out for mine. Going to do Dynatec headers and Y pipe, custom cam, tune and exhaust. AFM delete is coming later, but for now, I'll just tune it out.

the lifters (and lobes on the cam) on the dod cylinders are different, if your replacing a cam, you have to replace the lifters and probably the springs.
