Did you reset the oil life after the change?

I reset it (or dealer did in Decmeber). I plan on getting it done later this week.

Well it just went to 17%. I looked at my last oil change sheet and its only been 5500 miles so I should be good until it gets to 12% or so.

Dealer service guy said driving on the highway is actually easienst on the engine and was not suprised it didn't change. He said hook a trailer to it and the % will drop quickly...

Mine went from 95% to 84% this past week towing around 1000 miles. I will be surprised if I get 5000 miles out of this oil change.

The math says you should get 7000 miles. Remember towing is harder on the drivetrain

Which is of course why there is an oil life monitor instead of just a mileage or time recommendation.

Yepper. I would trust that more so than the typical mileage.

So I was told to change oil at 20%. From some of the threads I'm seeing people have been going down further. What are you all doing?

I am running full synthetic and changing every 4000 to 5000 miles. I am ignoring the oil monitor. My monitor said 47% after 4800 miles of driving last time and the oil looked dirty enough to me. I do my own oil change, and pay less then $9 a gallon for full synthetic Dexos 1.
