Could someone please recommend a good dash cam for my truck?

there is many.

 

if you have a typical computer, finding a common encoding is a must do.

this does add cost.

a tricky one is mp4 when in reality, it is a sneaky encoding wrapped in a common suffix..

you'll know when you find good ones, it is always in the ad.

 

if you have giant workstation, you can get a cheap camera and a weird encoding like steve jobs insisted on using.

 

 

I thrash 32gb of .mov like a rag doll.

I wonder what mr. jobs would think of that.

I've used Garmin and now have a thinkware f770 with front a rear camera​. You want one with both camera. You're only getting 50% of the story if you get rear ended.

 

The kid that hit me tried telling the cops that I ran a red light. Clearly I didn't. And I could see he was on his phone when I swerved. I called his insurance the next day and they didn't try to fight at all. AT ALL! worth the money.

You get what you pay for.

Also just a side note almost none of the dash cameras I have tried will read license plates at night. They get washed out from the lights. So if you get hit yell out the plate number so you have it on record. One of my driver's were hit and they assumed that the camera got the plate. NOPE only got 3 numbers. Not enough.
