Water in Rear Doors!

Good Morning everyone,

I have to post to see if anyone has had a similar issue.

I have been driving around for the past few days and I could swear I hear water sloshing around. I could not hear it all the time but it seemed to be random and I thought it must be the fuel in the tank.

Yesterday we had a beautiful day and it was nice and dry. I parked my truck and noticed water leaking from the driver's side rear door. I proceeded to pull the weather stripping off the bottom of the door and to my surprise, about 2 L of water started pissing out the holes.I tried the passenger side as well and the same thing happened.

The drain holes in the bottom of the door were plugged a little so I used a paperclip to open them up a bit.

I've inspected all around the door and the seals seem to be tight. Anyone have any idea how this water got in there in the first place?

I have had the same issue on my 2010 silvy. I removed the plugs under the weatherstripping on the rear doors and left them out. If you had the truck rustproofed when new or recently, just leave them out at it will not happen any more. Been at least three years since i had the issue and I removed then little plugs on Both rear doors. Yearly, I also check the fronts when they respray my truck.

Yes its normal the water goes down the window through the door and out the bottom of the door. If it was completely sealed you couldn't roll down the windows.

Just make sure the drain holes are clear and move on with your life.

check the top corners of the door when it is open. One of the creases at the top may be slightly open to allow water to get in. Had that problem on my 2012.
