Happened to both sides of my headlights at 750 miles. Dealer fixed it under warranty. I believe this happens because the headlight gets so hot that the double sided tape looses its stickiness. GM has a repair kit that includes better tape. Just go to the dealership. Haven’t had any issues since. Now I’m at 45000 miles.

The real question here is how and why do you have a 2017 with only 1,000 miles?

The OP started this back in 07/2017.

Yep, 25k on my 2016 Silverado and the driver's side started hanging off. Shoddy!

Welcome to the site.

So, what is your plan next, fix the cover that Chevy did not make the tape that failed, or maybe replace the truck?
