Intermittent dash rattle

I've searched around this forum a bit but couldn't seem to find this specific rattle I'm dealing with.

There is a very audible rattle within the center console. It's very hard to pin point where, but my guess is deep inside under the radio unit. It's not always happening though. Sometimes it's rattleing other times it's not. When it is rattling I cannot stop it. It will magically go away the next day I drive.

With this being the case I can never have a dealer look. They'll tell me to pound salt. Any ideas on what I could do?

When its doing it, bring it to the dealer and make them come out and look at it then.

I had a persistent rattle under my steering wheel last summer. It eventually stopped only because the screws backed all the way out.

I would rather attempt this myself because my local dealers are very dismissive about things like this. Just looking for ideas like oburgtiger mentioned.

I took mine to the dealer and he blamed it on my key fob hitting the column. I was in my dash working on my light bar and decided to take a look. Sure enough, 3 of the 4 screws had either backed all the way out or were loose.

Simple fixes like this I don't mind doing myself. I shouldn't have had to, but I did it anyway. Good luck tracing it down. I have the jump seat, so I won't be of much help with the console.

Check your over head console, some times the trim plate around the LED light rattles as well as the one around the home link buttons.
