2003 2500hd brake help

2003 2500hd ext cab 4x4. 4 wheel disc of course. After I stop on my drive to work, the brakes smell hot. I have an infrared temp gun. My drive is a 55mph zone with frequent stop lights. When I check my rotor temps after my travel I get around 200° on front rotors and about 250° on the back rotors. Now I can jack the axles up and apply the brakes and immediately after I release them I can roll any of the tires so the brakes don't seem to be sticking. Does this sound like a normal temp range or do I have a dragging issue? I noticed this first because I had a rear wheel seal leaking and it started smoking under normal brake use. I fixed the seal.

The rear discs should not be hotter then the front. It sounds like your brake proportioning valve is not working properly (if your vehicle has one).

Well these trucks always go through the rear pads twice as fast as the front so I assume the rear does a little more braking. I know on most vehicles the front should do more but these trucks are wierd. That's why in 2006 they went back to drum brakes. Not saying your wrong, it could very possibly be bad proportioning

HD's never went back to drum brakes in the rear, only 1500 trucks and it depended on what rear.

Parking brake dragging?

My truck doesn't seem to be doing that (wearing the rears twice as fast as the fronts).

And the parking brake won't do it, as they are a completely separate drum system within the disc, so it doesn't alter how the disc pads wear at all.

A dragging parking brake would to heat up a rotor due to the friction created from dragging.

When you had taken everything a part to repleace the rear seals, how did the calipers look? Slide pins clean, regreased or replaced and greased? Pads slide freely in the calipers?

Could be a hanging caliper and the problem shows up when everything gets hot due because everything expands. Then goes away when it all cools down.

Ok I finally got to inspect everything. The parking brake isn't dragging. I checked everything that I could think of. ALL 4 calipers and slides are great. I took everything apart and checked it all. ALL pistons go in and out easily. I can have someone apply brakes and just as soon as they release the brake the wheels will roll very easy, no drag. I tried it with engine running also to make sure the booster wasn't sticking. I'm lost. During another normal drive today the brakes got very hot again after a few normal stops with no load.
