which level kit for 2017

on my last ride(2013 sierra dmax crew cab long bed) i had a ready lift level kit installed. didnt crank it all the way just wanted a little more height in front. just traded it for a 17 sierra dmax crew cab standard bed. would like to do the same to it. any recommendations for a level kit for this one? sticking with 275 70 18 .

Depends how much lift you want out of it.

 

I would grab a 22mm socket and crank till you are happy, see if you get the lift you want out of it, if cranked high you will need shock extenders, if really cranked will need upper control arms.

 

Might be able to get away with just cranking and allingment.

I am going to get a Rough County kit for $549...

This kit will allow you to run a 35" on stock rims.

It includes;

keys,

diff drop spacers (to keep cv angles safe),

upper control arms (for a better ride and safe ball joint angles),

4 new shocks with spacers.

I am not cheaping out and just cranking the bars, not with a new $50,000 truck!

cognito .ccm, some have had bad luck with rough country some not.I would look else where.

Some advise on cranking bats first and add parts of needed

You are going to open a can of worms as many people argue on the subject of leveling vs a lift and turning it down. I went with a leveling kit, SuspensionMAXX, for my own personal reasons. The nice thing about this kit it comes with drop spacers for the differential and shock spacers incase you don't purchase new shocks. I also went with purchased Cognito upper control arms to give more space between the upper controls arms and the bump stops. Depending on your wheel setup, you don't need a lift or level as I know people have cleared 35x11.5R20 or 285/65R20 on OEM wheels at factory height. I'm running 285/60R20's as I didn't want to go too big and kill my fuel mileage and only leveled to decrease the 3 1/2" of rake my pickup had from the factory.

any thoughts about ready lift level kits? I'm starting to think for the same lift/level. Maybe its better to just get a legit 4" lift. I realize its a bit more but seems like it really keeps CV joints and ball joints in better geometry.

Lift kit requires cutting and is expensive, if you are ok with this then I suggest a Cognito 4in. lift, when it is cranked down to 3in. it has perfect angles and rides same as factory. Throw rear blocks in trash.

 

I would skip the expense and start piecing a level kit together with the ass needed list I posted the link to.
