Factory Remote (Keyless) Locks to 1998 GMC C1500

Hello all! I just picked up my second C1500 and found that I am missing the AU0 (keyless entry module). My question is: If this truck does not have this code, meaning it was not equipped with Remote Keyless Locks from factory, would I have the harness 16 pin plug taped up or tucked to add the module? I don't want to get a Viper or anything like that as I can get the factory Remote Module with 2 FOBs on Ebay for 60 bucks.

I have verified that I do not have the module, and removed the bracket that holds the DRL and all that to make sure. I just can't find the plug that I would use to connect the Remote module.

Did GM install different dash wiring harnesses for trucks without remote locks? Just to qualify this, it was dark out when i finally got the bracket off, so it may be tucked under there somewhere. Any help on this would be great....I will go the aftermarket route if I need to, but it would be nice to just plug this in and go if possible. Thanks.

It's not worth it when you can purchase a better aftermarket remote start/RKE for so cheap.

I was thinking about doing an aftermarket kit. Wanted to try the Factory style first, and if that is not going to work....then aftermarket. So, does anyone know if they did have a separate harness for trucks w/o remote keyless entry? I am about to dig into the dash today, but just wondered if any knew ahead of time if that 16 pin connector was present in ALL 1998 C1500s or if it was only on the ones with Factory Keyless.

Well, It looks like there is NO plug for the Keyless module. Hopefully this will save some people some time and effort. I took the lower dash apart and it looks like they do have a different harness for the non-Keyless trucks.
