If you wanted, you can upgrade your HMI to Apple Car Play/Android Auto capable. MVI can also do that for you.

Yep.....just thought it to be odd. $48k sticker and they come up short. Lol.....oh well. I can't say I'm excited about spending $800. To correct.

And I pay for OnStar. I called them for turn by turn. Fifteen minutes later I just gave up.

Check your glove box RPO sticker for rpo CPO, and also verify which radio is installed.

CPO Credit, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto not available

1 - Required and only available with (IO5) Radio for orders created or produced beginning approximately mid-May and forward. The exact duration of this substitution is yet to be determined.

IO5 is an 8" radio without NAV. IO6 is 8" with NAV and IOB was a 7".

If the truck was built early in the 2016 MY it's possible it has the correct hardware, but needs the software update. Software for AA was not available til about March of 2016, but '16's built before that were upgradeable.

IOB and IO6 are also AA compatible.

FWIW, MY2015 and earlier not upgradeable due to the hardware used. As others posted, trucks with the CPO rpo code were sold with a credit applied, and are not upgradeable.

If your 16 does not show CPO, a dealer upgrade will get AA running.
