Water leak, engine bay

2014 GMC Sierra 2500 6.0 z71 CCSB.

 

So the other day i had driven a few miles, no A/C on. I parked, came back to my truck and found a small puddle (about 3 inch diameter) of water under the driver side engine area. Rinse and repeat to find the same puddle. Water pump?

Water pump is on front of engine.

Is it anti freeze? Feel it, rub it between your fingers, is it slippery? Taste it.

Is coolant tank level going down?

 

I will make a suggestion. Spend some time online and learn about your truck, motor, drive train etc.

The reason I said water is because i have a brain in my head and determined it was indeed water not some other substance. Most online info about leaking water integards to these trucks points to either an interior leak (common seal issues) or water pumps going bad...

 

does it help you if i tell you that i have 4.10 gears? I indicated it was 6.0 and i assume you are smart enough to realize that refers to a vortec engine not the 6.6 duramax. How about if i tell you it has a g80 auto lockong rear dif? Is any of that more detailed info that i should know have anything to do with water slow dripping from the front driverside of the engine bay?

Did you have the HVAC in the defroster setting?

 

Where under the truck were the puddles?
