Look locally for a polish shop or a truck detailing place. Most big cities have a place that straightens bent alloy wheels and they can recondition also.

Plan to pull the tires off the rims to do it right...

I’ve been researching this issue for a little while as well on my 20” denali wheels.  With the quotes I’ve been getting I might as well buy brand new aftermarket wheels or fairly new factory take offs.  I talked to a friend of mine who does metal  polishing and he advised not to polish them because of how often they will tarnish, that I would be much better off having them re-chromed.  After having them sandblasted and re-chromed I’d be looking at around $1200  I found a few new take off sets with new tires for the same price on craigslist

I bought a set of cheap after market aluminum wheels. They were heavily stained and corroded. After trying to clean them up with steel wool, and a wire brush - I gave up. I was going to sell them as scrap. Last ditch effort I soaked them in battery acid for 2 hours. After that, they cleaned up very easily and look beautiful. I'm amazed how well it worked. I have had them on my rig for a few months and they still look great.
