Vibration V4 to V8 mode

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a vibration in V4 mode. As long as I maintain speed and stay in v4 mode I can feel the vibrating. Feels like something in the hubs or tranny maybe. Soon as it switches to v8 mode it goes away. Appears to be getting worse by the week. Also notice a slight drag like something is holding me back in the v4 mode. Any ideas?

I would suggest focusing on the engine, as if it were hubs or brakes dragging, then it wouldn't matter if the engine was in v4 or v8 mode.

maybe the harmonic balancer on the engine is going?

I understand that it's in the engine but it FEELS like hubs or tranny. Anyway to check harmonic balancer? Someone said that there's a recall for this out but not for my year. For new trucks

Do a search. This is a comman issue in the early addition fuel management 5.3s which started in 2007.    I had an 07’ and would experience the same thing at times.

Ok so what's the fix? The whole disabling the AFM Scenario. It's getting worse so what's the end result of this? Also I am disable it but isn't the damage done already?
