IPhone x charging

Can anyone tell me if the iPhone x will work with the wireless charger in my 2016 2500 Sierra?  

How about the 2017 or 2o18 trucks?

It will work in the 2018 and that's it, unless you mod the others

Has anyone considered or priced changing the armrest cover to the 2018 version that has QI charging ability?  I have a 2017 Sierra and an iPhone X.  Sure would be nice if you could order the 2018 armrest cover and plug and play the install.

 

I've been told by the parts department at my local GMC dealer that the wiring harness may be different.  If so, it wouldn't be possible.  Anyone know for sure?

 

Any ideas if this would work?

Its wired completely different and is a different module all together.
