Protec bed question

What IS a pro-tec bed?

I was reading the Newbie section and was welcoming Pewter Pro-Tec to the site, and posted this question there after a few comments about it, but I figured more people read this board, and it fits here

Thanks!

They're not really that great - great idea but this one didn't work.

They are only very slightly lighter than a steel bed and they are not strong enough even to support a truck cap.

I liked the idea at first but they need to take another shot at it.

It's strong enough to support the cap, but there is no place to clamp it.

There are no traditional bed rails. I will try and find a pic and post it.

As far as "not being that great" Big Boy...Do you have one? Because for my purposes, it works very well. Not to mention the fact that door dings (at least on the bed) are a thing of the past. Now I'm not a contractor, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it commercially. It's pretty d@mn strong. I personally have zero use for a bed cap.....And if you need to haul more than this, you have no business in a 1/2 ton.

I'll find a pic of the rails here in a few.
