Yeah - update came on my screen yesterday afternoon.  It updated while I was driving.  Took about 15 seconds.

aww no fooling... man i'll have to check my truck today..... did it say it was updating or anything?. .or you just hit home and it was there?>

 

 

edit: never mind.. just saw this on another article..  "The carmaker is pushing out an update for model year 2017 and later vehicles"

I believe 2016s will get it later...2017/2018 received immediately.

 

It asked if I wanted to update now or next ignition.  I just pressed now, and it had like 4-5 updates go.

 

It is located on the home screen on the second page.

Yes, I got an update yesterday as well, mine seemed to take about 5 secs.. Not sure if it continued to run in the background. I didn't check for added stuff afterwards.

Speaking of the GM apps, I was kind of liking the weather app I was getting during my free Sirius/XM trial, and was a bit bummed when it disappeared after the trial. I renewed my Sirius/XM subscription, but found out the weather app was an extra $4.00 a month, so I never renewed the weather service.

Last week I was putzing around in the infotainment system and saw that I could add the weather channel app for free from the marketplace. I downloaded it and it's just as good as the XM weather. It even has radar like the XM app has. 

It took me 6 months to realize it was even available in there.

 

I also just saw that this has been discussed here earlier this year. Near the end of the video, it shows how to add a shortcut, which I did not realize you could do.
