Hey guys/gals. Let me ask a few questions.

First of all, I have the Bose system, and about a month ago, I lost some of the backlighting on the radio...no big deal, it can wait, then today I have no sound coming from the radio, no AM/FM, or CD, and my horn quit working. Now I called the dealer, and they told me they would pull the radio, and send it in. Its under warranty, so its no big deal. Now my question is that doesnt the radio control the chimes/airbag/and other stuff? If they pull it, wont I loose all that stuff? He didnt know what I was talking about. I hope someone can shine some light my way!!

HD......The chimes etc DO come thru the radio on the 03.

Not sure about the airbags tho. But I doubt it...geo

I had a similar thing happen to my 03' Silverado. I did not loose any backlights, just all the audio and chimes. Radio still lit up and I was receiving messages on the Radio data system from stations. The problem turned out to be the fuse for the radio amplifer in the fuse box under the hood. I removed it to see if it was blown, and it was not so I put it back in. After that the sound and chimes were working again and have been ever since.

You said you have the BOSE system. What reciever do you have? CD, CD/Cassette, or 6 CD?

My friend has an Envoy with the BOSE system, and has gone through 3 different reciever units due to problems with the system. may not be exactly related to your situation, but apparently there is a flaw.

My receiver is the CD/Cassette. When I went to go home the other night, the radio worked fine, has ever since. But the backlighting is still out, and the horn still is inop. Im really starting to miss my 3/4 ton Yukon.

Oh well, fix the little problems, and it will be alright.....

I got a 03 2500hd with 1300 miles on it. I dont drive too much had it almost 3 months. I got bose with cd/cassette. At 200 miles i couldnt get sound from the stero. It would lite up again but nothing wouldnt happen. Next day it worked fine. Then it happened a few weeks later. Worked fine 30 minutes later. Havnt had a proablem in about a month now.
