Buying USED Black Bear Autocal ok?

I have the opportunity to buy Black Bear Autocal used locally for $200. Its for 2014-2017 Silverado with the 5.3. Already has a 89 and 93 tune on it.

Will i be able to use the tunes on my 2014 sierra 5.3 or will i need to send my own files and get new tune?

Also, will i be able to get tunes being that this is a second hand unit? Not sure how or if being the original owner is validated before a tune is sent.

Yes, it will work if the Auto-cal is married to BlackBear Performance. If it was for a different tuner, that said tuner would have to unlock it for you to use with different tuners.

I believe the auto-cal holds 6-8 VIN numbers.

You will just have to pay BlackBear for the tune, they will send you all of the correct info to get setup. You will have to send your own files in. BBP will send you new tunes based on what you want. I would clear the tunes on it now, as they’re VIN specific and won’t work on your truck.

I bought a used black bear auto-cal from a member on here. I was able to use it and then later sell it to someone else to use once I had sold my tuned truck.

Sounds good. So each time someone gets a new tune they pay for it? How much is a tune?

You will need to purchase a license and pay for the tune

I decided to sell it and got money back. İt was going to be another 325 to get license and tune
