Which one of these two would you buy?

Please help out and give your advice on which one to buy of the two.

First one:  Truck one

It's a '94, only 29k miles.  The guys says it's in very good condition and it is his second truck and he only used it on the weekends pretty much.  No problems with it.  Comes with a shell (don't think I'd use it at all or know where I'd put it...???).  And when I first saw it I thought "ugly" but since then the color has grown on me and I think I would be happy with it.

Choice two: http://www.autotrader.com/findaca....lt=none

It's a '96 and with more miles, 53k. Is my favorite color for these trucks. Guy says it is in very good condition also, is the original owner (same with number 1).  Said it mainly saw to and from work use on the highway and in city with occasional trips to the lumber yard or something like that.  Extended factory warranty still good until June.  Nothing wrong with it. Also has brand new A/C compressor after old one had a problem.  Has headers and exhaust.

I don't know what (if any) differences there are between the two years...?  But both are fully loaded basically except for leather.

Number 1 is $16,000 (not sure yet if negotiable)

Number 2 is $15,300 (could get it for $15,000)

What do you all think?  I think I want to go look at them tomorrow.

Help please

Looks like the blue is 94 is the better value, however if you don't plan on keeping it a long time, it will lose resale value 2 years faster than the 96. I would have to put both on the rack before I could decide. I ain't much on two-tone, but atleast it is a little different. Good Luck.

Damn, why is this so stretched wide.......?

But yes, I do plan on keeping it a long time, but am not really worried about re-sell value.

It will become my main vehicle and allow me to retire the Camaro to tinkering and sunny weekend driving.  Thats also why I want a low miles truck.

Oh btw-  Both are city trucks and I don't think have seen much offroad duty or abuse, if any at all.

I can't figure out why it is stretched so wide either  ???

Number two would be a Vortec motor!!!  More power!!!  More Smiles!!!

Low miles can be as hard on a vehicle as high miles.  Both of these vehicles have low miles, but the one is extremely low.  Personnally I would rather buy a used vehicle from a guy that drove 10 miles to work as apposed to 1 or 2 miles to work everyday.  Trust me on this...  I drive less than 2 miles to work and back and my truck never gets warmed up.  Yes the 3600 miles showing on the odometer looks nice, but in the real world of an internal combustion engine, 7K-10K would seem much better.

Ok I'll make it reeaal easy for ya'll....  number 1's been sold!  :D

What is the difference in the motors?  Both are 350's.

the 94 and below are TBI motors, less power

the 95 and up have EFI and have about 250 hp

1)  210hp

2)  255hp

I can't remember the torque numbers but I think they are similar.  I would choose the #2 truck (I realize that's the only choice left if #1 is sold, but that's not reason).  I like the look of that model (year) a lot.  I would recommend that you have a good mechanic look it over first.  If it costs you $100 but saves you a lot more, it's worth it.  The headers would make me a little nervous.  Long tube or shorty?  If long, can you still get to everything you need to to service it (transfer case, etc..).  Was it raced?  Just look it over real good (as with any used vehicle).

They're both GROSSLY overpriced.  I see that one was sold.  Should be able to buy the other for $9,000 MAX.  Not trying to bad mouth it just trying to help you save your money.  I just bought a 99 new body Silverado w/44k & 5.3L for $16,100 in excellent condition.  Trucks like mine can be had on a daily basis if you do your homework.  Good luck.

If you still had the choice between two. I would say go for the Vortec. There is a big difference. I would try to get that price down a little. Even though when I traded in my '96 3/4 ton ext. cab last month I checked the dealer later and they were asking $13,900 and it had 116,xxx miles on it.

Yeah but where are you guys from?  Here in CA thats what they're going for from what I've seen.  And I've been looking a few weeks at least now.  I think number 2 is priced at about Blue Book.

Well, off to look at it.

Well looked at it and drove it today.  Its very nice and in great condition as far as I can see.  Very clean and drives nice.  Has nice little header and exhaust setup on it too.  Nothing wrong with it, everything works.  Very clean under the hood, doesn't leak a drop.

Almost seems too good.  I'll I want to do is run a carfax on it although the guy says it was never wrecked.

I'm 99% sure about it.  We just have to set something up tomorrow and its a done deal!
