2015 Broken valve spring @14k miles

2015 Silverado Crew Cab 5.3 LT with 14,800 miles.  I was driving home from the store.  I drive like a grandpa and was going 10-20 mph after stopping at a stop sign.  When all of a sudden I hear what sounds like my exhaust pipe rattling followed by a bad vibration.  I pull over and start recording what it’s doing so I can show the repair shop.  After pulling over and it dying, I got a tow truck to my local dealer.  They call me 24 hrs later and tell me my truck is ready after saying a valve spring broke and also found a fouled plug.  I picked it up and it’s running like new.  But I’m shocked a valve spring would break on such a new truck.  Video below

Man, that really stinks. At least you've got your baby back. I guess when you churn out as many trucks as GM does, you'll get some defective parts here and there. Just curious...was the fouled plug on the same cylinder as the broken valve spring?

on any individual truck, virtually anything can fail...that's why they offer warrantees on new vehicles.
