Clunking noise

Hi I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 2014 silverado 1500 ltz with the 5.3. When I shift from park to reverse and from reverse to drive I hear a clunky noise.. and when I'm driving intermittently when down shifting or going to a light upshift I hear a clunking noise... is this normal? Does anyone else experience these noises?

I have this problem as well. Dealer looking at it now but they didn't seem like it was a issue. Prob cause they hate doing warranty work. Already had water pump replaced under 15,000 miles and now a steering column. Hopefully they come up with a fix soon.

I'm pretty sure everyone experiences this to some degree. A few members have fought it tooth and nail with dealers and had transmissions, torque converters, even rear ends replaced and it never fixes the issue. I'm a firm believer that the factory tune is to blame.

Just got my truck back from the dealer and they said there is a service bulletin for this issue and they just retorque the leafspring bolts. Hopefully this helps.

I would say to check you're u-joints.  We never re-torqued leaf spring bolts after the first time, they were to be discarded and new ones made - heavy equipment and trucks.
