Location of front air bag sensor

I have a check airbag light that came on my dash.  My GMC dealer told me the fault is the front crash sensor and they want over $500 to replace it.  Naturally I feel that price is way excessive considering my '08 with over 173K miles on it.  Contacting our local Chevy dealer they told me they would sell me the sensor for around $150 so I could change it myself.  They also told me that this is a very common problem with this sensor because of corrosion from all the salt used on our Wisconsin roads.  I was wondering if anyone know the approximate location of this sensor up under the trucks front end?

Crawl underneath the front of your truck. Look up, but underneath the radiator on the lower support. It should be bolted on top of that. Just look for a yellow connector that is plugged into it.

Yeah, shop around the sensor and either do it yourself (replace the sensor) or find someone else to do it.  No way it takes 1/2hr to do it (at the regular dealer shop rate of $700/hour)...

It took me 20 minutes and most of that was me staring at the ABS fuse thinking I would blow the bags for whatever reason. Other than that, was a piece of cake. Unplug it, one bolt to remove.
