Steering Wheel Button Won't Return

Today I got in my truck (2016 2500 Chev Ltz with steering wheel radio controls) and the center "cancel" button won't pop back up so that I can press it to cancel messages. This is the one on the left hand side of the steering wheel. I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if they had a fix other than probably replacing it at the dealership? I am out of warranty now. I am guessing it is a $200 fix but maybe there is a trick to get it to pop back up? Thanks in advance.

Wow I feel like an idiot. Just realized this morning that the left hand side center never did move. It is solid, the right hand side is the cancel button. My mind is not what it used to be ha ha.
