With your 4.10's, I imagine getting off the line without spinning too bad (if your on street tires) is a little challenging. Adding a torque converter will help your ET if you can hook. You will likely keep the same mph, or possibly loose a mph or two with a converter. You can get more efficient than stock converters that will help your mph though.

A blower or nitrous will definitely increase your mph and ET, especially nitrous.

What will really get you more top end torque would be a camshaft swap, but thats not really a "bolt on".

how much will that mess with my gas mileage by putting in a new cam?... and what would be the best rated torque converter?(2500, etc...?)

i hardly spun at all, i was spinning the tires before i did my run. also, i heard that starting off with the tow/haul button on helps. i forgot to do that... would it make a difference?

Any reputable transmission shop (Level 10, Art Carr......) will make a converter specifically for your engine/trans combination. But these manufacturers will make the converter to match the cam. So lets say a 2500 stall converter was made for your stock cam. You decided to swap cams. You would need to have the manufacturere of the converter restall the converter to match your new cam. So when shopping for a converter, make sure you are 100% sure what cam you are going to use before buying.

Call Lyndon at Westers Garage... I just swapped in a custom PCM for my truck and it seems pretty darn good!!!

He'll calibrate your new PCM for all the mods that you have already done to your truck, and for what and how you want to run it.... 1-888-WESTER1
