AIR BAG LIGHT

My air bag service light has came on. it has came on before and it lasted for months last year and the year before (i know could be dangerous) its been off since November an now that i think about it its only has came on when its been hot being i live in Texas its starting to heat up again. There will also be times when I would hit bumps in the road and it will turn off then turn back on after a few minutes or another bump. What I'm asking is how much would y'all think the dealership would try and suck out of me to try and find the problem being that i don't want to mess with it because i don't want it blow up in my face. the picture attached is what its reading with the code reader.

Check the connectors under the front seats.  Not sure on the Sierra's I had a 2010 Traverse doing this and the lock on the passenger side connector had opened so it would cause the error on and off as I drove.

I just had to push the connector and re-engage the lock never had an issue again.

May not be your issue but an easy check just to be sure.

This is actually the connector right behind the knee bolster. You could probably disconnect it an reconnect it and the light would go away. I had this happen on my farm truck and all I did was remove the connector out the picture and solder the wires together. Took less that 15 minutes.

Let me see if I can find you a video on one.

Start watching at 15:30 and you can see the repair. I know it says B0044 in the video but this is the same for the B0026. Just a different leg.

I would not use wire nuts. If anything I would use butt splices that have heat shrink on them. Something like this. http://amzn.to/2DK04Ml
