Lifter Knock!?! Or something else?! Please Help!

Eventually it will not go away and it will start to skip. I know people who have drivin them around like that... But I wouldn't recommend it.

Exactly what my 06 Z71 did.

Wasn't there at startup.

Started as a mild tick as engine came up thru temp.

Went away once at operating temp and under load (driving).

Would come back when sitting at idle.

Got progressively worse.

Now it's constant and louder.

Pretty sure at least one lifter has completely collapsed.

It sometimes feels like I'm only running on 7 cylinders.
