TCCM Replaced after 4wd lockup

Recently had my 2014 4wd lock up and caused the truck to become basically immovable. Service 4WD message popped up and the transfer case knob was unresponsive with the light stuck at auto 4wd. After a quick tow to the dealer, they diagnosed the TCCM as the problem. Of course it's not under drivetrain warranty. They replaced and programmed the TCCM for a few hundred dollars. Disappointing since there's been transfer case related recalls, and from what I've researched, many known instances of the Service 4wd message faults. I couldn't find anyone actually having to replace rather than simply reprogram the TCCM though. Had anyone dealt with a similar issue?

On a positive note, the high pitched whine is not present on the new module. Not that it bothered me much to begin with but clearly GM acknowledged that issue.

I had a similar issue, but was able to solve it on my own with my DiabloSport Tuner. I've had my truck lock up in 4wd with an unresponsive knob and "service 4wd" message, in the cold winter months. This only happens, if I shut the truck off in Auto 4wd. After a few days of not being able to park my truck and taking every corner wide, I had an idea.

Short term fix - I used my DiabloTuner and did a program, which seemed to reset the computer in my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. Problem solved, it was back to normal.

Long term fix - Don't shut the truck off in 4wd
