DIY Fishing rod holders

Recommended Posts

So I have a standard bed with Line-X on a 1500 Silverado. I’m looking for a DIY for fishing rod holders that will be inside the bed since I have a cover. I would prefer to have the rods run along the inside of the bed over the wheel wells. Maybe something that will attach to the rail or something? Not really sure, pretty much looking for ideas.

Has anyone do anything allg these lines?

You could try something like a
Berkley Horizontal 4 Rod Rack
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CLS17O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_7bIVAbMC68Q8R

Modify it or use it as is. I bought something similar a few years back to attach to the ceiling of my cap for fishing rods.

I been looking into this as well. I always have 2 or 3 rods in the back. Currently i keep them in a long box but its not the safest way.

Perhaps those rod holders held on the bed side with heavy duty valcro or double sided tape would work. May need to run small bungee cords to make sure they dont fall out.

Image result for pickup bed fishing rod holders

These allow you to lock the rod into them.

Mount to a 2x4  or such properly spaced and lay in  the bed.

Easy to remove.

Or make something to fasten to side of inner bed metal.

I actually have an extra box of those holders lol. Maybe some 3m automotive tape would work. I was looking for something slightly less permanent. I was looking at something like this. Just not sure which type of nut/bolts were used on the rail.

Looks like bolt head that is big enought to fit in the rail and a wing nut and those are just J jooks for hanging thigs in the garage. Will work, just need to secure the rods so they dont fall out.
