Engine running Too Hot?!

Damn that radiator in your pics  looks a mess man!

No signs of any sealant leaking , cap is clean. Pic posted below of my cap.

Like I stayed in my last comment my gauge is reading 210 but the readings I took with the temp gun I just bought show way below that. That’s why I was thinking faulty gauge or temp sensor.

If my radiator was clogged internally how would one go about to clean it?  Just drain old coolant out? I’ve never flushed a radiator before or had one clogged so I’m asking.

Its just weird that the gauge says one thing but the temp gun is saying I’m ok. Wtf?!

I have an non-contact temp gun. Two actually. They always read low. The less expensive ones can not be calibrated for  reflective color or texture and the more expensive ones than can...I have one of each. That said an instrument like Linear Logics Scan Gauge II takes the reading right off your ECM/PCM. It's the same reading your ECM/PCM uses to run your fuel/spark mapping. I have found on my truck and my Buick that the dash gauge set is not even close to accurate.

Yeah I went and bought the non contact inferred one and it’s reading around 20-25 degrees cooler then my gauge. Coolant level is good, no leaks. I’m just curious if my actual gauge isn’t acting all wonky.

I will try the thermostat first, going to run to the parts house tomorrow for one. I’ll keep you updated on this. I will more then likely have more questions if the thermostat doesn’t solve this issue.

Thanks for the help brother appreciate it.
