Speedo Calibration

I know I have seen this topic a million times, but I have never paid close attention to it. I now have 285's on my truck, and I knew that it was throwing off my speedo, but I didn't realize that it was also throwing off the actual mileage on the truck. Where/how can I get it calibrated?

You are actually showing less miles on the odometer than you are traveling. That is a good thing if you want to keep the milage down. For example: If it is 100 actual miles from point A to point B, your odometer may only record 96 miles.

 

You can ask your Chevy dealer, but I don't know if he can go up to 285's. Otherwise you'll have to get a handheld programmer or a custom PCM. Maybe a "speed shop" could help you out.
