Oil Leaks

I have 1999 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 with a 6.0 (LQ4) and an Auto (4L80e). The truck has the trailer tow package on it with an engine oil cooler built into the radiator and a Trans oil cooler built into the radiator also, plus an additional front mounted factory tranny cooler. I’m tired of the hard lines and GM quick connect fittings leaking (Both have been replaced before).

 

Does anybody make a hose kit conversion, using the factory coolers? Or can anybody at least point me in the direction of what parts I need to adapt the radiator, engine, tranny, and the front cooler over to AN fittings?

Here is what I would (and have) done:

 

Thoroughly clean the fittings with alcohol. Coat the fittings and 1" either direction with this sealer. Let dry for 24 hours before pressurizing the lines. I have used the same procedure to re-attach radiator hose fittings to a radiator, patch oil pans, fix broken fuel tanks on chain saws, slashed sidewalls on offroad tires, etc. Its not pretty, but it works. Its liquid rubber in a can, and it sticks extremely well to clean surfaces.

Thanks, but I’m really hoping somebody knows at least the THREAD SIZES for the tranny, external tranny cooler, and both built in radiator coolers. So, I can convert over AN Fittings or Brass Barbed Fittings to hoses!

Send a PM to Chris. He's done this and should have the info. He made a thread about having the hoses made. Search for it. Pretty informative. He's got a build thread but doesn't go into detail like his other thread on the hose build.

 

Actually you should be able to find the fittings on most parts sites and convert them with this chart.

 IIRC 3/8 is the fitting size currently on the truck
