Sunroof stuck in Vent position

I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 LTZ  and the sun roof is stuck open in the vent position. Both switches work I can hear the motor running/  see some parts moving in the track. Any ideas? is it missing parts or somehow off track I tried to do the initialization process to reset the motor memory but no luck. I have it taped for now, would like to try and fix myself if possible. My local Chevrolet dealer said if it needs a motor plus the track and labor it could be almost $2000. Also truck has side curtain air bags on the front pillars will this be a problem in removing the headliner if any one knows?

I am having this same exact issue. At first my sunroof would attempt to open but only go back about a half an inch on 1 side but not the other. Today I foolishly opened it in the vent position and it only wanted to close one side. After a few attempts it just got stuck open. Gears are moving but glass not moving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this.
