Hey all, I’m new here working on my new to me 2004 gmc 2500hd. I have scoured the internet about this issue and have done all of the recommended fixes. I still am getting abs activation at slow speeds and turning to the right. I replaced the right wheel hub assembly which I figured out that it is the left side that is actually the problem. So this morning I swapped out the hun assembly on the left side with the one I took off the right side. Still same issue. I cleaned, sanded sensor spot and put a thin layer of grease. The only thing I havnt done yet is try a different sensor. The whole start of this problem began when I got the abs light intermittently. Figured out the sensor wire on the left side was damaged replaced it and that’s when the abs activating on the right side started. Thanks for any help

Most likely a bad flex line on one of the the front calipers. Just change those both out/flush the entire system/bleed and you should be good to go. The wheel speed sensors are just reading an imperceptible (to you) wheel speed differential upon slow speed braking/tuning because of the restricted flex line. I would suspect the right side line but replace them both at 14 years old.

Yes. The hoses are multi layered and what happens is the interior delaminates and partially blocks brake fluid flow, you cannot tell by looking at the outside of the flex lines. If you have already replaced these then please disregard but this is a very common problem on ALL vehicles and by your description it is a low speed during a turn when braking and if one wheel receives more hydraulic pressure on the caliper than the other it can cause a tire slip without the driver even being aware. I now believe it is the left side line after thinking about it. In a right hand turn the right wheel is locking up (maybe) LOL it sounds like a good theory right?

Thanks man, I have not replaced these hoses yet. At least it’s another option. I’m really scratching my head on this one. When I first got this truck there was no problem with the breaks until I replaced the dang faulty wheels sensor. Since then have had trouble
