Stock Height/ Stock Wheels/ NEW TIRES

Recommended Posts

So I have to buy to tires for the upcoming winter. I was wondering if I would be able to fit 295/60/20 on the rims I attached to this thread. (20x9, 27mm offset, 6.06 backspace) Before I bought this truck, I only had cars which I lowered and widened. Very much new to having a truck. Please forgive my ignorance. I plan on getting a leveling kit for next spring but need new tires sooner.

Thank you.

That will rub.   Stock height you can do 275 60 20.  I'm not sure what else without rubbing

I have been running 305-50-20 Michelin defender ltx with no rubbing, stock height. 12.4 section width,32 inches tall. The specs for stock size Michelin 275-55-20  is 11.2 section width,31.9 inches tall. Also running stock wheels.

295/60/20 will rub at stock height regardless of what rim they are on.    A 2.5 inch level should clear without too much rubbing provided that you don't do heavy offroading and use an All Terrain/Highway type tread.  Mud Terrains will rub badly.

Just placed an order for a Rough Country 2.5” leveling kit. With the stock rims can I fit 33” grapplers? Would wheel spacers not make a difference?

Can I fit 275/65/20 with minimal to no rubbing

A lot of folks on here have done it, my self included.  The only problem is, most if not all, 275/65/20 tires, will ride rough due to their rating/spec.  You can get a softer ride with a 275/60 tire and keep it in the P rating/softer than the 10ply you'd be looking at for a 275/65.  I went back to 18s and got a 33" tire that rode way better than the 34s I had on my 20s.

Hahaha you know exactly what I’m talking about then. Ok cool I’m hoping to stick with the oem rims for now.
