2001 Tahoe audio upgrade

This might be redundant but I am going to ask anyway.

I just bought an 01 Tahoe. I have an eclipse CD 3422 in the box that I was going to put in my old truck but traded before I got it in. I still have a few days left that I can return it for 100% credit. I want a little better sound mostly low end bass. The front produces plenty of high and mid for me.

 

The question here is do I install the Eclipse and if so what will this gain me? Or do I just use the factory head unit and upgrade the sub only???????

 

The Eclipse has a sub control for what that is worth.

 

I do not want to dump an extra 600-800 system but I also need to keep my cargo space or I would put a sub box in the back.
